Could this be the generation with the best Pokémon designs so far?

32 Pokemon, that are all new ones.
>32 designs confirmed
Pre gen-6 I wouldn't worry about it, now I'm terrified we know about half the Pokemon this generation. Fuck XY so much
Maybe, but it's got a long way to go to beat Gens I and V.
Cutiefly definitely has at least one evo.

Maybe it's just what I want to believe, but I feel like there's already greater variety when it comes to types. Because of the low overall number of all-new Kalos Pokémon, we only got a few Pokémon for each type, and whatever types were shared by multiple evolution families were mostly paired with a second type so they could still have some variety.
Hell, we only got one new Bug-type family in X/Y, and this time we already have two. It's not much to go by, but it makes me hopeful.
It feels like the bw pre release, they showed so many new Pokémon every month. Hopefully we will get at least 120 new Pokémon.

That's the vibe I'm getting, too. I mean, surely they would have learned from their mistakes if they had another small Pokédex on their hands and wouldn't be showing them off at such a fast pace so early?

We still don't have a ground, fighting, ice, poison or dark type at all and the only grass Pokemon is a starter and the only ghost Pokemon is a box legend.

We've only "seen" 18 of them so far. Nearly half the list in OP's image are known evolutions or assumed-to-exist mon. Still seen less than of XY's dex at this stage.
