This is true. I didn't try to get a shiny ho-oh from OR, but it took me a couple tries to catch it and it struggled to death more than once.
I highly recommend putting it to sleep as much as possible.

A Mirage Mountain can spawn with Rufflet. I know it's not Braviary but it at least evolves into one.

You can catch Braviary while soaring , they're in those bird flocks, but getting Rufflet like >>26955688 said is better if you want to do it via dexnav and see IV and stuff.

Hatched a shiny Starly when building a team for Sinnoh Classic, it was early in the reproduction process so one parent only had 3 IVs but quite luckily he still ended up pentaperfect, first time I get a competitively viable shiny.

I was thinking about using a few of my level 1 shinies I bred in XY but never actually used but then I realized if you were even able to transfer them in the first place to SM they would no longer have your OT, and thus recieve 1.5 the amount of EXP making
