I am pretty sure Ash is going to lose to Shota in the semifinals/finals.

Bulbapedia shows an image of Mega Sceptile fighting Ash Greninja. And we all know who has a Mega Sceptile.

Ash Greninja does well against Megas that have a neutral typing to him. But Mega Sceptile has a x4 resistance and is x2 effective against Ash Greninja. Leaving him Greninja at a major disadvantage.

Shota has known Ash for a while and knows all his tricks.

Ash is going to lose this league like every other league barring Orange islands.

Add all these up and it's pretty clear that Ash will lose.

It is pretty much confirmed through scans and the story they've been telling that Ash is gonna beat Shota in the semi's. Which will then lead to Ash-Greninja vs Zard X rematch in the finals
