If you're counting the sunmoon starter's evolutions, you should count the xy ones. So, in reality, we're looking at 32 vs. 27.

I mean, I'm 100% sure it gets an evolution. I'm 100% sure Cutiefly gets at least one. But it's not confirmed, so we can't add it on... My point was that in gen 6, we didn't know if Flabebe would have one or two evolutions, or even zero. Most of us thought Trevenant (Orotto) wouldn't have one, I know I did. I thought Helioptile would be an awesome 3 stage line for sure. You never know.

Doublade was definitely revealed beforehand, i definitely remember the Aeg-3-slash memes. Goomy and Binacle were revealed before launch, but leakers had the game and were able to post them before their announcement.
