What is the best type combination for
>Offense
>Defense
>>
Ice/Electric
Fairy/Steel
>>
Considering that nothing resists it, Ghost/Fighting is probably best for offense.

Don't know about defense.

It would have been steel/ghost if steel's resistances hadn't been retconned.

Ghost/normal would be neat, in theory.
>>
>>26935144
Best on paper, but is it also the best in reality? Ground and Fire weaknesses are huge considering how popular they are as offensive coverage.

Weakness to 3 or even 4 shit types is better than weakness to 2 hugely popular ones.
>>
>>26935144
Ice/Electric really?
>>
Offensive is flying/ground
Defensive is fairy/steel
>>
>>26935196
There's only 3 lines that resist BoltBeam. Ice/electric is very potent stab.
>>
Fairy/Dark is decent
>Only resisted by 2 Pokemon so far, hits 235 for SE and the rest neutral
>Only weak to Fairy, Steel, and Poison, while it is immune to Dragon and Psychic, and resists Ghost and Dark (the latter is a double resistance)
>>
>>26935133
Fairy/Water or Ghost/Fighting
Fairy/Steel or Fairy/Dragon
>>
>>26935133
Ground/fairy
>>
>>26935133
Ground/Fairy
Steel/Fairy
>>
Zygarde with Thousand Arrows.
>>
Water/Ground with Sap Sipper for defensive.
>>
>>26935190
It resists all but 7 types and is immune to two. There's a reason Klefki is so good besides its movepool and ability.
>>
Ground/Ice is the best for offensive when talking about super effective hits. That combo can hit 421 pokemon for SE damage.
>>
>>26935133
Rock/ice=offence
Normal/ghost=defense
>>
>>26935133
On Offence:
Ground/Ice doesn't have total coverage as well as some other types, but it doesn't overlap, and the sheer number of pokemon that are hit SE by one or the other is impressive.

On Defense: Steel is a dangerous type to mix with, because Ground and Fighting are a big deal. Fairy/Ghost is probably the best, since they cover Poison and Dark, leaving only Steel and Ghost as weaknesses, while carrying 3 immunities, two of which are great, a 4x resistance to Bug if I'm not mistaken, and all of Ghost's useful resistances. In addition, as a Ghost, it can never be trapped in.

>Magnezone
>Lanturn (with Volt Absorb)
>Mamoswine (with Thick Fat)
>Heat Rotom
>Frost Rotom
>Shedinja
>Togedemaru
>>
>>26935153
Fairy types
>>
>>26938263
Don't resist ghost
>>
>>26935133
Ground, ice, (freeze dry) fairy, and dark moves will hit 13 (14) types super effectively
>>
>>26938195
The last 3 are "shit" mons
>>
>>26938195
Five of those don't matter.
>>
>>26935133
Best offensively is Rock/Ground, nothing even comes close to it.
