Pretty good overall. Dranpa's design just doesn't click with me, but it seems like one of those Pokemon that grows on you over time. Vikavolt is top tier and Tapu Koko might be the best legendary in ages. Can't wait to see the other guardians.

On the whole this gen looks really good. I really haven't liked the majority of designs for gen 5 and 6, but this looks like a step in the right direction.

Well for starters, it's a grub that turns into a pupa, not a grub that turns into a grub. We know it's a pupa/cocoon stage because Charjabug's actual eyes are inside of the exterior shell.

Magearna is cute and detailed without being a horrible overly-busy mess like the other legendaries.
Rowlett and Popplio are bland and I don't really have a strong opinion on them one way or the other.
Litten is just an anime black cat with red details to validate it being a fire type.

So far, pretty great Gen. Surprised how muted the colors are so far, only Gayfish is really "tropical" imo, but the underlying designs are fantastic for the most part.

Magearna isn't overly busy. It's mechanical, so having mechanical details makes sense. It's also got a little faux ballgown dress, which are also detailed.
Comparatively, Lunala has those dangling star things, is covered in cresents (GUYS BECAUSE THE MOON CAN BE A CRESENT, GUYS DO YOU GET IT????), and is a skeleton thing for some reason.
Solaleo or whatever looks like it's some sort of weird astronaut robot thing, with an avocado tail, a big moustache, a robot mask thing, and orange gem things.
Tapu Koko just looks fucking stupid more than anything else. It has a gigantic mohawk, three "legs" with a tail, those shoulder ring things, and then there's the shield protruding solely from its wrists, which is actually a cartoon chick, with a beak (which are actually its hands).
I don't really care much about the other starters one way or another, but Litten really stands out as a generic animu cutesy cat without anything really fire-related besides having red details.

Something about Drampa just gets me in the right spot. I'm surprised at how much I like the designs, I don't dislike any of them. Bruxish is pushing it, but it's more unique than some other Pokemon, at least.

Vikavolt is the best of them all, even after its subpar previous stages. I'm gonna catch one, name it Vic Viper and kick all kinds of ass.
Tapu Koko is the best legendary in a while, the tiki mask thing is genius and really makes me wonder what the other guardian deities are gonna be like.
Drampa still seems a bit odd to me. Does it even have legs? Or is it a weird slug thing? Its animations have a lot of charm though, so I'm sure It'll grow on me by the time the games are out.

I'm autistic for statistics, so this is the averages of basically everyone's ranking for that particular Pokemon.
Some notes:
* Coolbug clearly is the most favorite, while Gayfish is the least favorite (poor replacement for Sadfish).
* Punpun-bug is only SLIGHTLY better than Owlette (technically 3.9237/5 vs 3.9153/5).
* I'm actually surprised Sonichu is second-least favorite. I would've thought his meme factor (combined with Steel-type = Coldsteel the Hedgehog) would've been a /vp/ favorite... but I guessed wrong.
* Metalfairy got the most number of 0's and 1's from everyone (5 and 35). However, it's not dead last simply because it has more 5's than the bottom 2 (10 vs 5 and 3).
* Boxbug is actually the only Pokemon with more 5's than 4's (apart from the top ranking Pokemon) (13 4's and 16 5's). I wonder why?
* Tikimon is the lowest ranked Pokemon still with the highest number of 5's among all its votes (36/32/22/21/6/1)
* Litten is the highest ranked Pokemon with most of its votes being 3's (28/36/40/10/4/0).
* The overall average ranking of the listed Gen 7 Pokemon is 3.2236/5. The user who closely predicted /vp/'s decisions, at least based on how different their average is from the overall average are these posts:
