I try not to plan my team ahead fully for my first run through of each gen, instead I catch a bunch of Pokemon whose designs I like and keep the 6 I grow most attached to
Right now Litten/Popplio, Iwanko, and both bug lines interest me the most, so I'll probably at least catch them. The weird dragon also has potential

Litten is very likely, since I always have a starter on my team the first time playing through a new game, but if it and all the other final starter evolutions are severely outclassed I'm not beyond ditching them.

If Popplio evolves into a Water/Fairy, though, I might drop it for Litten (if no other Fire types I like) or Rowlet (if Pikipek turns out more like Unfezant than Talonflame) just so I don't have two Fairy types. For my first run I like to only use new Pokemon and I don't like to repeat types. I'm glad there's finally another Steel type I like (previous favorite was Empoleon).

I like most of the designs shown, but only these three are guaranteed.
The only two I know for a fact i'm going to use during my first playthrough are Rowlet and Iwanko. I want to see what other Pokemon are coming to SM before I make a final decision. Might end up using Trumpgoos for a HM slave too
