Just because the trailers feature Salamence, Pangoro, Krookodile and Gengar it is not confirmed that they will be in the dex.
I thought we learned this back in 2013.

1% is likely the lowest percentage the game is capable of showing so 3 seen could easily be like 0.5% of the Pokemon in the region

Kalos had about 350. 300 + a safari of some sort sounds like a good guess.

Keep in mind you could find just about anything in Kalos that wasn't a starter, eventmon, legendary trio or box legendary.

That brings us to 32 (38, counting the ?s). We'd have seen a third or a fourth of the dex, and in June no less. The game comes out in November.

I could go into all the comparisons between newer gens (Gen 5, Gen 6, Gen 7, Gen 8) and older gens (Gen 1, Gen 2, Gen 3, Gen 4), but put simply Iwanko is Alola's Poochyena, Grubbin and Cutiefly are this gen's regional bug pair to Wurmple's split evo bug pair, Bruxish is Relicanth, Nekkoala has some things in common with another bulky sleep-based Normal type, Drampa's line are either this region's Altaria or one of twopseudo legendaries, and last of all if Magearna is the only event legendary we know of, then we're still missing the Deoxys to its Jirachi.

We're probably getting closer to 140. Not that it's a huge difference from 120 really, but just something to consider.
