I used to hate Gen V because I thought the Pokémon there were ugly, but comparing them to these, they look like they were designed by Da Vinci.

I, for one, actually like most of the Youkai Watch designs a lot, but a lot of these feel like the abortions of Youkai Watch.
I have no idea how the fish and dragon got past the design stage-they are god awful and look so out of place.
To think I actually had hope in the Gen,everything related so far has been pretty cool.
Tbh we should have seen this fish coming. Hawaii's state fish is the *ahem* Humuhumunukunukuapua'a or Reek Triggerfish for short I guess. Bruxish is clearly based on that. Just with a different color scheme.
There have been good and less good designs since Red and Green.

I genuinely like the trigger fish Pokemon and Grubbin's evolutions weren't what I was expecting at all but they still work but the other ones feel off, like they look more like fakemon.
Back to the trigger fish Pokemon. Water/Psychic is a good typing and it's ability is broken as hell, it could see some legit use in the competitive scene if it gets good moves and decent stats.

I think the designs aren't bad, completely redeemed by the bug types though. If you don't know the origins of the designs then they seem worse than they are. Go look them up, OP - they might make you feel better about them.

It's not BAD but it is another Pikaclone, looking at its animation does make a lot more sense when you see how the spikes work but I think Pikaclones are unnecessary.

Really like this one, it's so unique but doesn't try hard to be something it's not. The fact that it's a cocoon but is still offensive is great, this is probably my favorite design of them all so far. Electric/Bug is a great crossover type. I feel like whenever the rest of a Gens designs are lacking, Bug redeems them.

I think this is really cool. It looks a bit overdesigned and nonsensical until you see how Charjabug evolves into it. I like the concept of a bug adapting long-nose electrician pliers. It's kind of like an electric version of Beedrill crossed with Yanmega.

Porn artist here. I genuinely enjoy all gens of Pokemon and all their designs, and I especially like drawing them. I can count the designs I don't like on one hand, and even those I can more or less accept as being valid and in-style.
That fish is easily the worst designed Pokemon ever shit out by Sugimori. It's unacceptable. The mouth is the biggest offender, but the way the colors are applied is what really throws it off.

I don't like Bruxish, but only for the pride-parade color scheme. Adding a Triggerfish to a Hawaii region was a sound idea. It's not a fundamentally shit conception like Vanillish or Garbodor.
