Why what rules are being used now instead?

Showdown being shut down in 2017 was the best move TPCi ever made

>Smogon literally pays for and runs a simulator by themselves
>They add plenty of support for VGC, Battle Spot, and plenty of other non-Smogon metas
>Any Smogon player that has about an hour of expierience will tell you that Smogon rules aren't official
>Some kid who doesn't understand different formats thinks that evasion clause is banned and complains about it

Basically, before Showdown, you would go online and ask for a battle using "Smogon Rules". Then you linked up on your DS and hoped the other guy followed the rules.
