How many Pokémon do you want in Pokémon SM + new Megas?
I want 139 new Pokémon and 12 new Megas.

Look, gen 6 had 70 pokémon and everyone collectively lost their shit, but I'm fine with it. They need to cut back on the amount of new mons they make because there are so many now.
We already know S/M will feature an abundance of old Pokémon, so I don't see them adding a ton, even if "Life" is supposed to be the theme of Alola.
I hope they never have as few as ever Kalos again, but I also wouldn't be that upset. I'd like 90ish new mons in S/M, that's all I want. If however they add even slightly more than 100, that would be enough to appease the fans.
But DEMANDING that they shill out 120+ new ones is greedy and indicative of a spoiled personality. One should not take the high number of new mons in past generations for granted.

At 130 new Pokémon I would be completely content. Looking at previous generations, it's obvious that the quantity of Pokémon has no influence on the quality of their designs. Gen V had some pretty bad Pokémon, but not any more than Gen IV or Gen VI had, despite their differences in Pokémon amount. So, I want big numbers for maximum gameplay potential and Pokédex hunting.
As for megas, I guess around one PC box will do, so 30. Preferably Johto starter megas and Unova/Kalos megas.

It is only after a new Gen has come out that the true general opinion about a game shows. Gen V is heavily liked, Gen III is heavily disliked, and Gen IV is considered mediocre, bar the music that everyone seems to love. Gen II seems to be better than Gen III, too. We'll just have to wait and see what the end opinion on Gen VI will be when it's no longer current. But Gen V? It'll stay the favourite for a long time still.

Actually, I don't think any of the box legends have ever been bad. The only one I ever thought looked stupid was Snake-Giratina but it grew on me after a while and now I really like it.

What's wrong with liking both pokemon and digimon? Pokemnon have looked like digimon since gen 4 and 5, looking iek digimon is nothing new. I remember seeing Dialga and Conkeldurr and thinking "Those look like

70 is plenty of Pokemon, the problem with Gen VI was that: A) a lot of the new Pokemon sucked and B) they showed way too many of the new Pokemon before launch.
There are enough Pokemon now that each new region doesn't have to be a full frontal assault of new Pokemon. If anything I like the idea of them cutting back on the total amount because it SHOULD allow them to focus on the designs and make the Pokemon they add really good. If this was the case for Gen VI it would have been better received.
I don't know why 100+ is some sort of holy grail for people, there's no need for that many. Especially since Gens IV and V partially achieved their total counts by flooding the games with tons of arbitrary, unnecessary legendaries.
