There were rumors about gen 7 being based on polynesia/malaysia before it was announced and before Hawai'i was confirmed, and that seems cool. But maybe a desert-ish region would be nice. I've seen a lot of anons saying Australia, and I wouldn't disagree.

Scandinavia. I know it isn't a country, but Pokemon regions need to be bigger anyway. It's also nice and cold.
