Gen 6 nerfed Weather Wars, will Gen 7 nerf Priority Wars?
Is there even a way to nerf priority without fundamentally changing the game? Other than reducing the base damage of all priority moves.
+1 priority increases your speed by x1.5 during that turn. +2 priority increases by x2.0 and so on.
I posted this in the other thread.
Priority can be overcome with enough speed.
Each priority level is equal to +/- 100 speed.
If you have 100 more speed than the guy using aqua jet, you can outspeed the aqua jet.

This in combination with making priority moves actually be affected by Trick Room (besides stuff that would actually be mechanically broken like Helping Hand or Focus Punch) would really help with nerfing priority attacks.

All moves which do not deal direct damage are at -1 priority, including protect and it's variants. Prankster then makes them at 0 priority.

Not whirlwind and roar though. Bring the +6 speed choice scarfed whirlwind games. It has -6 priority which would be the equivalent of -6 speed.
