Will Zygarde still have a role in SM, or will it just be a postgame mon where an NPC just gives you the squishies when you transfer it?
Short answer: Nobody knows, no matter what reasoning anyone can give you, they don't know.
I do believe it will at least get some area for itself, like it had in XY, and i hope it'll get a quest as well
but i have literally nothing to back this up with, so it's all just guesswork

Thats neither special or exciting.
I think it will have something like episode Delta. Return to Kalos would be incredible but i wouldnt count on it too much.
