There's just so much more dickwaving now than there was, it's almost like people are concerned about their image on an anonymous imageboard. I think it's also a lot that there are a lot of people that have gotten sick and tired of people that exaggerate meming
which is more common now, so it's understandible
for example, in the last week, i saw two threads where some guy said something dumb that caused shitstorms, where 50% of the replies were nothing but reaction images, about 35% were stuff like "here's another reply for epic" and the remaining few actually said something relevant, like trying to share their opinions on what was said
In both cases, there were even several people that admitted to responding multiple times to that single comment, just because
That shit is retarded, and annoying, and it's understandable that people dislike it

It seems like memes have become memes for memes sake. It's not a funny joke or weird occurrence that catches on, there's structure and different "dialects" of memes on different areas of the internet.
Old 4chan was irreverent, anonymous and ridiculous. Mainstream things were ignored and you could just talk with other people about niche subjects or make stupid joke images or trick people.
Now the irreverence has become a regimented anti-PC culture. Think about this. Trump is a huge mainstream authority figure and the opposite republican of Ron Paul who was Old 4chan's darling.
If you criticize, mock and attack this ridiculous authority figure, you get a gang of people telling you to go to /reddit/ or /tumblr/ because 4chan is a secret exclusive club.
At least /vp/ is kinda nice in some threads.

just look at those trump/yungoos posters. The only similarity Yungoos has to trump is that it's got yellow hair
And same goes for the "Golduck is literally me" meme. It comes from /co/ where a pic of Daffy dressed stylishly was forced as "literally me", and eventually got accepted and made into a collaborative work to make a /co/ comic. but here on /vp/, Golduck won't result in a collaboration cause it's just a single mon, and it doesn't work as well, since Golduck isn't stylish at all. People just post it cause they want something to post
I think this is because there are so many of us here on 4chan now. This is why people in the ancient times invented the rule "You do not talk about /b/" with the implied extension of the rest of 4chan as well.

It's a ninja village. Two brothers each own a Greninja, one of which was first introduced as a Frogadier way back when. The older brother has a Greninja because of some ninja village legend from way back when, while the younger brother trained his frogmon to be like his bro. The third Greninja, which belongs to Ash, evolved from Frogadier in that episode.
I don't think there were any other Greninja in that village of at least a couple hundred ninja. Another brother, the middle one, uses aVenusaurand properly rekt the youngest brother in a battle.
