The kanto starter should be the mega, though. Most iconic pokemon associated with him outside of the Kalos starters. I think something like Greninja/M-Charizard/Snorlax/Lucario/Sylveon/something else would make the most sense.

The only protagonists who deserve to be rebattled are RB's and BW's. BW mimicked Gen 1 and B2W2 mimicked Gen 2 in many ways, it really would have worked out.
