You see, Normal type Pokémon have a bad reputation. They have no resistances, are common and not particularly powerful, and Arceus, the false god, is one of them.

Porygon was pretty high in the recent poll so it seems all is forgiven for the citizens of Japan.
Now the people in charge of the anime just need to finally accept Porygon did literally nothing wrong and make him the new mascot of Pokemon to make up for 19 years of injustice.
