Pretty sure it'll be your region if it's hatched on your DS. You might be able to change your country on your DS to manipulate this, but I could be wrong.

Do people not realize that there was a map in the X/Y strategy guide? Because I'm pretty sure there was, and it wasn't nearly this simple (at least for US), and the kind I get (plains) isn't even listed as a possibility in the US on this.
