Hardmode
-No lowering stats for mons over 500bst
-Some added points into unused stats for 600+ bst
Try to justify your abilities if you think the reason isn't obvious, don't slap on huge power just because.
It's got a really simple design, and it seems pretty simple minded.

New move: Riptide. Special variant of Aqua Jet.
Bellossom more or less screams "SUN SUN SUN"
Vileplume used to have Shield Dust. Then I've learned that in Japan, it's called Moth Scales.

For M-Hitmonlee, I was thinking it challenges you to a fight. Either that, or a combat ring.
Same idea with M-Hitmonchan, but with a boxing ring.
As for mega dodrio here, I fucked up the typing placement and I was too lazy to fix it.
But yeah, Flying/Ground type with ground type -ate ability.
>>26831273
Please stop with this solid rock meme. It's not a good ability and my bro doesn't deserve it.
>>26831304
>groundilate
kek, maybe call it terraform
But I'm a big fan of megas removing the normal type on birds
>>26831317
It'll help power down ice attacks, to an extant of course, and it makes more sense thematically than, say, Thick Fat. Torterra honestly doesn't need much.
>>26831358
Or instead, you can realize that nearly every good pokemon in OU has a x4 weakness and they handle it just fine because they bring something to the table. A x4 weakness isn't crippling and you shouldn't set every sight on it when you think of something's viability. Not to mention that Torterra will still get murdered by ice moves so it won't matter in the slightest.
You want to think of giving torterra a niche rather than trying to cover up a problem badly when it isn't a problem.
Christ. Exactly the kind of person that always suggests sap sipper quagsire or some garbage like that.
>>26831317
>>26831402
people like you make me ashamed to like torterra
>>26831402
Mega Torterra what then?
Trying to make a shitmon good.
Basculin already learns Super Power, so it'll make good use of Contrary. It doesn't have any other options than that, but I think that's really all it needs unless GF would go crazy and give it Close Combat.
>>26831465
Thematically, a gravity setting ability would make sense and give it something unique, but snowflake abilities only lower the quality of these kind of threads.
Something like Simple could make Torterra take advantage of all the boosting moves it gets and keep its identity of being a dangerous Rock Polish user.
>learns every tm

Protean seems fitting
Wonder why no suggestions ever aim for a doubles setting
>>26831587
Because doubles focused megas and pokemon usually end up being shit in both doubles and singles. Look at Florges and Mega-Audino.
>>26831473
That's about the best you could do without minmaxing
>>26831587

On special snowflake abilities:
I truly believe Mega Steelix deserves auto-gravity. Sheer Force or Heatproof would work too, but
- Fits thematically. He has a gravitational pull with his shards, and epitomizes the steel/ground type with a core of the earth motif
- Gives him a unique niche, especially over Aggron
- Lets him hit everything with his primary STAB, particularly faggot fliers like tflame/skarm/thundy/balloon tranny
- Evasion reduction from gravity lets him hit everything with Iron Tail, Stone Edge etc
- as a bonus, prevents HJK
Now what do we call the ability bros?
>>26832633
Just give him Magnet Pull. It makes sense thematically, makes him actually good and isn't some snowflake ability.
>>26832643
It doesn't make him very good, he's still much worse at it than Magnezone so it doesn't justify a mega slot.
>>26831504
I know the thread says no moves, but I would do this + Head Smash. Now it has recoilless wood hammer and smashquake. Although even without smash it's free wood hammer (and double edge if you're a memelord). The speed lets it outspeed scarf keldeo with one RP.

Dark typing fits thematically for Raticate, and makes it a dangerous Sicker Punch user. 4x weakness to Fighting hurts, but it can outspeed the majority of fighting types and can carry Zen Headbutt to counter them. Much Punch and Vacuum Wave are the main concerns.
147 speed let's Mega Raticate outspend everything shy of Mega Aerodactyl. And crucially, out-priority a lot of dangerous priority users.
136 attack is respectable, and with powerful stabs in Crunch and Hyper Fang (assuming hyper fang is added to the strong jaw list) both hitting at base 120 power before STAB, it hits like a truck. Add in a coverage move to compliment your team, and it's got great options in the elemental fangs and zen headbutt. Depending on which coverage move you pick it'll have neutral coverage against all but a handful of pokemon.
Pumped the defenses to avoid total glass cannon syndrome, like Mega Beedrill. With 55HP, it'll still fold like tissue, but at least it won't die to a stiff breeze.
>>26833037
if you read its pokedex entry it could turn into a water type plus seeing how its fangs can apparently gnaw through concrete with ease
also Le water gun rattata
It's pretty heavily reliant on luck, but doubling both Ice Beam freeze and Ominous Wind boosts could be pretty horrifying.
>>26833083
Just give it Technician + Frost Breath
>>26833154
Technician makes zero sense thematically.

Technician means tactile skill. Displaying frozen prey is not skillful. If the dex said something about carving ice sculptures you would have an argument.
>>26834173
I thought i would be cool if Dragonite went for a Knight/Paladin theme. Also Steel Extreme Speed sounds pretty good without being completely fucking broken
>>26834185
It displaying its frozen prey is an ice sculpture...
>>26834217
It's not carving it you dumb shit. There is no tactile skill or precise movement involved. That's the unifying theme for all mons that have Technician.
Freezing something and putting it on display doesn't make you an ice sculptor. Like throwing paint at a canvas doesn't make you a painter.

Considering the synergy between its pre-mega and post-mega typings (resisting what the other is weak to) making mindgaming easy, its pre-mega ability being Multiscale, its post-mega defensive typing and massive bulk and that it has access to Roost, getting at least one Dragon Dance up is easy as pie.
And when that boost is up, it's nigh-impossible to revenge kill it.
