I've come to accept that shuckle can't be the ultimate rare candy generator anymore.
But I at least go back to it being able to generate Berry Juice.
Its one of those special touches that made me love it more.

As others said slime, it is probably also based off of a barnacle, due to its extreme hardness, and originally found by an ocean. Barnacles are also arthropods, which is kind of that grey area where gamefreak may just give it bug type for the fuck of it

It's more of a slime mold, and also based on the process of fermentation.
I'm gonna dump some pics of that turtoise-bug-noodle looking things later.It took me three gens to notice that Shuckle is a bug type.

I like this, but could take a long time to setup fully. we're looking at around 3+ turns just to have trick room and power trick with switching too. what about a speed boost sub baton pass? I haven't tried it out yet but would like to see this set work

In doubles, send out a partner with Trick Room. Shuckle's low speed guarantees it goes last in the turn, allowing it to soak hits with its defenses. Partner uses trick guard, which has -7 priority, guaranteeing it goes last. Next turn, Shuckle, having the lowest base speed in the game, is moving at the speed of goddamn sound. It'll need Rock Slide or Earthquake to hit both foes at once. Ideally, you'll need Quick Guard or whatever it is to protect Shuckle from priority moves now that it has ten defense.
