Can someone explain why exactly people want this guy to have

Can someone explain why exactly people want this guy to have a water/dark mega with strong jaw?

Even if it does make sense water/dragon with sheer force or tough claws makes just as much sense and isn't a shitty typing with an ability that boosts moves with no coverage.

Sheer force is already a perfect ability for him. Getting the dark secondary is pointless, but doesn't hurt either. Really all Feraligatr needs is the start boost. Move pool and ability are fine as is.
