I agree it makes sense, it's just that Bug/Water is incredibly unique typing that only Surskit gets, and it loses STAB on its Hydro Pump and gets a 4x SR weakness, kinda ruining its competitive viability. It has such a good movepool too.

It's the Unova version of Magnemite. Actually it's probably more unique than Magnemite, considering how much its evolution changes is. Also cool how the big gear still has slight human-face qualities albeit being altered upon evolution, letting you kind of rorschach analyze it, and how each part of the body is moving another part creating pseudo-infinite motion. Also it's an offensive steel sweeper rather than another generic, slow wall. All that aside, use it in-game and use Gear Grind once and you'll see why.

Same. Bidoof/ Bibarel gets too much shit, especially with Simple + Curse. They are fantastic. I actually usually use Bibarel on my playthroughs of Platinum as my water type. It's always either him or Floatzel.

Hoppip line is my fave, also like most if not all the hated grass types. Except the grass monkey, fuck that thing.
