If they were to change Ice type for Gen 7 as a defensive typing like they did with Steel in Gen 6, how would they go on about and fix this horrible typing?
The same thing may apply to the Rock typing, but Rock has much more resist that Ice, it just has weaknesses to so many common attacks.

>Resists: Fire, Flying, Normal, Poison
>Weakness: Water, Grass, Ground, Steel, Fighting
I would add these resists:

I don't see why not. Ice resists Water and Water resist Ice. Like Grass and Electric.

Ground is weak to ice and since Earthquake is so common I think this would be one of the strongest buffs they could do.
Ice resisting flying could work too but Ice shouldn't resist Grass (since it is one of the worst types too) and Dragon (Fairy already nerfed a type which is only super-effective against itself)
Make it resist Ground, Flying, and Grass. Maybe give it a Fairy resistance too. There, Ice is fixed.
