I get sometimes people will miss the point of a TV show but Pokemon is literally a kid's show.

I always wondered about the second opening of the show, where they had a bunch of the rivals Ash had faced in one of the shots (It had AJ plus a couple of the Kanto League opponents Ash fought as I recall). Did they originally plan to have them be recurring characters, then they decided against it because they wanted the show to go on forever? What a waste of what could've been.
