Say what you will say about Kalos, but the fact that most of the rivers seemed to link up with each other, and they all appeared to logically originated from the snowy eastern mountains, was cool as shit

You mean the swamp south of Laverre? Yeah. That abandoned playground is top tier. I actually like all those small details they have around Lumiose. The playground, the skate park, and the fishing docks are really neat and give a sense of realism of a "bigger Lumiose".

There's nothing wrong with that. XY certainly have their strong points alongside their weak ones. Take Sycamore's theme for example, it's good.

Theme wise it's fine. Just the whole game felt very average and took no risks or is really memorable
