I just want to discover and catch a substantial amount of new Pokemon. There's really no excuse for them to incorporate at least 100 new dex entries now that every past gen models are complete. I've always liked the surprise factor of fresh new designs, so thats the main selling point for me personally
What would "pique" my interest is more than 100 new Pokémon, otherwise I may as well stick with simulators once again.

As someone who tried using this approach with ORAS i can tell you this doesn't work at all. If you're hyped for a game that later turns out to be shit you at least get to enjoy the leaks and all the hype surrounding them. If you don't you end up being pic related.

I don't know. We haven't really been shown much more than what we usually get in a pokemon game. The new overworld is what we've been wanting for years, but that all means nothing next to one thing. We've at least been given a hint that there's more story going on. If they do well with that, maybe I will consider. I can't decide as is, though. Expecting them to change that is foolhardy, though. Of course it's going to be the same stupid quest that has no real purpose. Why wouldn't it be?

I didn't buy any Gen VI games cause i thought there was gonna be a pokemon Z and also with everyone telling me it's shit combined with the fact i dropped out of pokemon for a few years. The latest one i have is Black 2
Now with Sun and Moon coming out I have to get X so I can transfer my old pokes for Gen VII

I buy Pokemon games because I love the franchise already. The story and gameplay being good or bad is just the spice of life.

I'm definitely buying the games for the quality of the individual title. If the game doesn't have any effort into it, like XY, I feel ripped off. I didn't even bother with ORAS after hearing no Frontier until I could pirate it.
A lot of /vp/ stopped caring if the games are good but not everyone did. If I had to pay $40 to play a shitty game I'd just play a ROMhack for free, even if the hack ends up being shit at least the hacker usually tries.
