The three final stages of gen1 starters was the shit back then. But now everyone seems to have grown into "ugh cannons digimon tier" and "where are muh foam ears and tail?", which aren't really good reasons, specially considering how Blastoise was designed before its prevos.
I always see people shitting in both Charizard and Blastoise, but for some reason that I cannot grasp Venusaur is the only acceptable one even though it changed Ivysaur badass impression into a fat oldman's face.

To be fair I never really liked any of the gen 1 starters. They're so boring and gen one has so much good stuff.
On the other hand, I feel like I'm the only one in the world who absolutely loves all three gen 5 starters, albeit the middle forms are kinda shit.and I'm not even trying to be contrarian, it's just what I really think
