I got bored of the new games incredibly quickly, and would definitely rank them asobjectivelybad games. But I still played them and will still continue to do so because that's kind of what fans do.
It kind of gets on my tits when I meet a self diagnosed pokemon fan who has only played up to GSC, immediately writes off the anime and modern games claiming they dont want to waste their time or money on them, and then still thinks anyone cares when they pretend to be a real fan.

When people make statements like the one you are referring to, they are generally talking about an opinion held by a reasonably large number of people or at least a vocal minority. Due to the propensity of people on /vp/ to complain about anything and everything, it is reasonably safe to say that some of the people who complained about too many pokemon, also complained about there being too few (some people just like to complain).
Believe it or not, just because YOU are not one of those people, does not justify your implication that no one would complain about both things.

Again, no. Once you've got all the bonuses to breeding and hatching, you're getting eggs and hatching them fast enough that you can't just leave it for any appreciable stretch of time. It takes not even a minute to go between hatches and egg spawning. Building up a store of eggs, then hatching them six at a time circling around the Lumiose tower is going to be a waste because you'll have to come back every minute anyway to button through the hatching dialog and going to the Box anyway. And, no matter what you're hatching, you're ending up with a bunch of left over eggs.
Breeding and hatching at the same time is a more efficient use of your time than taking twice as along because you're only doing one or the other.
