Knowing its an early rodent and in past generations they don't have a higher BST than 425 how can it be saved?
75/90/60/35/60/105
Is this good?
Along with strong jaw hyper fang and elemental fangs? I like stakeout but he doesn't seem good enough to use it as in having bulk good attack and move diversity to force switches.

That's probably the best you can do, yeah.

>implying stats go that low on these shitters.
Nothing under 45. Nothing over 100

60/80/70/60/70/80 and you'll like your shitmon.

>muh patterns
>>
>>26775034
don't come crying to me when it's something like that.
>>
Theres gonna be 2 rodents in this gen or the one that yungoose should have dealt with is the electric rodent, mostly think its gonna be sociated with sugar canes type would be electric/grass
>>
>>26774979
75/85/60/45/55/100 would be the absolute best minmax without setting new precedents. It would also be shit in VGC, but Stake Out would make it a pretty scary wallbreaker in lower Smogon tiers, countered only by Aggron and Steelix.
>>26774913
Strong Jaw is shit. You need to boost its Normal STAB first and foremost.
>>
>>26775185
>what is Strong Jaw Hyper Fang
>>
>>26775194
A measly 180BP move accounting STAB and ability boost, as opposed to 300BP Return on switchins and 150BP without. Strong Jaw will just give you a pretty generic Normal type that will likely be outclassed by Ursaring, Kangaskhan, Tauros or whatever, while Stake Out gives you a very distinct niche.
>>
Well, someone else expressed hope for the pika clone to be the rodent yungoos was after. What other mon do you hope to see tied into this? Kinda would like more snake mon, mainly because I think it would be nice to have a snake team IG and that they could work a good one in here with that. Perhaps a fiery little thing that would ignite their crops in passing (also giving a lava flow theme if you had a mass together), or maybe a pestilent bird to go along with pikipek.

Watch it get Encore.

May also be useful with Yawn

If we are lucky, Yungoos will be designed in such a way that it is fast and powerful enough to threaten opponents by using a Strong Jaw set (Super Fang, Crunch, Ice/Fire/Thunder Fang for coverage, this would work especially well if it evolves into Normal/Dark type), but not generally powerful enough to threaten physical walls. Because in that case, Yungoos would have two viable sets (Strong Jaw/Stakeout) that have different counters. This would make Yungoos better because it would force the opponent to guess and leave them open to misplays.

For example, your opponent faints one of your Pokémon which leaves them at medium health. You bring in Yungoos' evolution. If it has Strong Jaw, the right play is to switch out into something that walls Yungoos. If it has Stakeout the right play is staying in because Yungoos probably won't KO. Guessing wrong in either case leads to a fainted or severely damaged Pokémon.

I hope Game Freak go for this kind of dynamic and manage to pull it off.

Its funny how much of a shitmon Diggersby would be if it had literally any other ability. Huge Power is fucking ridiculous man.
>>
>>26775214
There will probably be other, better, Pokemon with Stakeout, though.
>>
>>26775900
Maybe down the road in the next generation
>>
>>26774913
Cant wait to get a Yungoos to mate with the rat mon he is supposed to hunt
>>
>>26775905
I bet there will at least be 1 mega with Stakeout as its ability.
>>
It might still be useful for abusers of U-Turn, Volt Switch, etc.

If the pokemon it hunts ends up being the pikachu clone I bet that mon functions well with volt switch and Yungoose is a counter for that.

Starcrossed lovers. So sad. Cri everytiem.

They tend to make shitmons viable. Like Talonflame should be a regional shitbird and look where it ended up.

The did that in gen 6 just like they did to bugs in gen 5 but in gen 6 bugs got cucked again. So hopefully this time around they will make them good.

these are cute.

I wonder if the said Pokémon Yungoos is supposed to be rival to will be a rat or a snake. I really want it to be a snake (in Hawaii they were bought to exterminate rats but in some places like the west indias the mongoose were introduced to exterminate poisonous snakes)
>>
>strong jaw doesn't boost Hyper Fang
for what
I also think it would be hilarious if strong jaw boosted Super Fang to take out 75% of the opponent's remaining HP

Before Diggersby, you could say there was a pattern where all the rodents had significantly higher Atk than SpA and all had lower defenses than offenses.

Diggersby has higher defenses and its Atk and SpA are nearly the same.

They can do whatever they want.

wow you just described like at least, 75% of the fandom
