Let's think of some good new Abilities.

>Global Cooling
Water-type moves become Ice-type.

>Global Warming
Water-type moves become Fire-type.

I'm actually working on a Pokemon Essentials project, so I might actually implement these in.
>>
>>26770255
To clarify: I've already implemented the two abilities in the OP, I meant I might implement your ideas.

>water becomes fire
>>
An abolity that induces trick room on entry. Think of it like a psychic drizzle
>>
>>26770255
>Global Warming
I don't know about this ability since GW is an hoax but if GF want to make this then eh.
>>
>>26770288
Fuck idk the logic behind it I just needed a partner ability alongside Global Cooling, which kind of makes sense.
>>
>>26770255
>Refraction
Beam attacks are sent back to the attacker with additional power (x1.5)

Ice Types such as Cryogonal would have this ability.
>>
>Theoretical Style
Physical attacks are treated as special attacks.
>Practical Style
Special attacks are treated as physical attacks.

>Artificial Sun
This Pokemon is always under the affects of sunlight, regardless of weather.
>Arificial Rain
This Pokemon is always under the affects of rain, regardless of weather.

Feel free to change the names, I'm no good at naming abilities
>>
>Sticky Body
Slows opponent when hit by a physical move
>>
>>26770319
You could just do "Ice type moves become water type". Make Dragons even more OP in doubles.
>>
>>26770255
Should global warming not be ice to water, like what happens as a result of actual global warming?
polar bears fleeing in fear as the oceans burn would certainly have more impact than "that glacier's getting pretty small"
>>
>>26770381
lol Water moves becoming Fire-type would fuck up grass types pretty bad.

>Boiling Point
Every Water-type move gets a 10% to burn on Pokemon who are damaged normally by Water, 5% to Pokemon who 0.5x resist Water, 2.5% to Pokemon who 0.25x resist Water, 20% to Pokemon who 2x weak to Water, and 40% to Pokemon who 4x weak to Water. 0% for immune Pokemon.

Short version: Every Water-type move is Scald.
>>
>>26770429

>Herbivore
like volt absorb but turns grass moves and health

Sap Sipper was actually literally Herbivore in japanese but I guess localizers really really really wanted alliteration really bad even if the name makes no sense in context.

>>
This is always fun, feel free to criticize names and effects, I'm pretty bad with the former

>Sure hit
This pokemon's attack ignore type immunity

>Hubris
This pokemon's attack is increased one stage when hit by a not very effective attack

>Ready on its feet
This pokemon's first attack will always go first (+6 priority, if its the correct cap of priority) after being sent into battle

>Conoseur
A berry eaten by the user will have twice the regular effect
>>
>Huddle
In doubles both mons regain hp from hail
>>
Party Pooper
Any buffs provided to any opponent by any other opponents team mates are removed when Party Pooper user enters battle
>>
>tactician
Damage done by the user will be based on the target's weakest defensive stat.

Ex: a focus blast on a chance would deal physical damage. Might be a bit broken
>>
>Solid Ground
>Allows immunity to ground shaking moves such as Earthquake, Bulldoze or Fissure
>>
>>26770800

>>

>>
>>26770808
>Inb4 given to a steel type
>>
>Quick Reflexes
The user's moves will outprioritize the opponent's priority moves.

If the opponent uses fake out, your move would have +5 priority, if the opponent simply is faster, you're screwed
>>
>Heavyweight
Prevents mons with lower weight than yours from switching out
>>
>>26770255
>Overreact
>Every move has a added 10% of flinching the opponent with any damage dealer attack

Good for Pokémon like Mr. Mime, Lopunny and other ones directly related with beauty or acting. Also, I don't know if 10% is too little, but 20% seems broken if combined with Flinching moves.
>>
>>26770295
Actually good. Give it to something like Mr. Mime or a weird bizarro type psychic.

I would say to introduce a full moon or clear moon weather type. Increase fairy type moves by 50%, decrease dark type by 50%.
Moonlight heals 2/3.

Could add dark night as a counter to that as well.
>>
>>26770319

>>
>>26770808
This is really good

>>26770830
Most likely

>Last Stand
The Pokemon cannot be KO'd unless it is at 1 HP.

>Provoked
Attack and Speed are doubled when the user is hit with a Contact move.

>Friendly Fire
Attack is doubled if you attack your ally with a Contact move.
>>

>>
>>26770899
Those are all unbelievably broken.
>>
>Mirror World
All status moves are imitated

Basically using stat boosts would cause the Pokemon with the ability to copy that stat boost, using an entry hazard would cause the hazards to also appear around the opposing team, using Toxic would also cause the opponent to get poisoned, using Light Screen would also cause a Light Screen for the Pokemon's team
>>
>unaffected
This pokemon ignores any kind of status effects

>Cold hunter
When frozen, this pokemon can attack, and gains a boost in attack and speed

>Centered
This Pokemon's stab moves ignore type effectiveness and/or resistances

Can someone tell me how broken this would be? Also what pokemon should get it and which shouldn't?

>Heavy Sleeper

I have other alternatives that might be less broken.

>Heavy Sleeper 2
Prevents damage from contact moves while sleeping.

>Heavy Sleeper 3
Prevents physical damage while sleeping.

Here's a better idea:
Last stand doubles all stats if the user goes down to one health

It's no longer op, and it can prove very usefull on the right pokemon (with or without recovery).

That's pretty fucking good. I tried to think of a way to improve it but couldn't.

I think "Heavy Sleeper" was a bad name. It sounds like it would make the pokemon sleep for longer or the opposite of "Early Bird." A better name might be "Deep Sleep." You can wake up regularly from a deep sleep but there would be thing you are less likely to notice.

>Hatred
Pokemon loses Happiness instead of gaining it. Can only gain Happiness through fainting or giving it Energy Roots. Useful for a Pokemon with Frustration.

>Common Cold

>>
>>26771594
Equalize is good.
>>
>>26771597

Soothe Bell would lower Happiness for a Hatred Pokemon.
>>
>Party Animal

>Choreography
Dance moves deal 1.5 damage
>>
>>26770255
The game needs more ways of dealing with entry hazards. Defog, Rapid Spin, Magic Bounce and Taunt aren't enough. Something like:

>Territorial
Prevents all entry hazards from being placed while this Pokemon is out. Discourages Stall players from using hazards on their own Pokemon like Defog. Potentially burns a turn for your opponent if you predict they'll use a hazard move.
>>
>>26771597
Should change >Common Cold to >Toxicity and give it to poison types exclusively, so they don't have to worry too much about the poison damage and can have more room for variety in move slots rather than shit that is meant to get a poison off.

Just a thought.

>Synthesis
Returns 1/6 HP each turn when in an environment related to its typing.
EX: A water pokemon in water, or a grass type in a forest, or rock types in caves, etc.

>Destrudo
Raises base attack stat by 1 for every battle won (determined by if theres any exp given, disregards exp share).

>Celestial Guidance [(Sun) or (Moon)]
Raises Attack and Special Attack by one stage if fighting during the day or night, respectively.(doesn't include inside buildings or in caves)
>>
>>26770770
I can see that. Make a Ghost type that has very very negative energy and just puts everyone down. A Negative Chansey/Togekiss.
>>
>>26771940
>Synthesis
Needs a new name because of the move an might need to be broken into a few different abilities. Quite good though
>Destrudo
Infinitely scaling stats is busted beyond belief.
>Celestial guidance
Pretty neat, Perhaps Nocturnal/Diurnal would be better names.
>>
>>26771993
dunno, I was thinking of raising it by a stage in battle but that's pretty much literally moxie
>>
>Resentment
If the foe faints or switches out, drops its replacement's Special Defense by one stage.

>Empath
Duplicates the foe's healing.

>Hyper Charge
Recharge moves don't need a recharge turn if they cause the foe to faint.

>Warrior Code
Boosts Attack, but physical moves always leave the foe with at least 1HP.
>>
>>26772049
Why Special Defense for Resentment? Why not attack or something?
Also, for Warrior Code, maybe make it boost attack sharply and leave foes with 1 hp until another attack move is aimed, otherwise it's pretty much useless unless in-game or something.
>>
>>26770343
That would be really cool actually.
>>
More type based abilities like Gale Wings and Lightning Rod. References to moves include entry hazards.

Immunity Abilities

>Supernatural
Boosts Sp. Atk and is immune to Normal type.

>Counterattack
Immunity to Fighting, paralyzes attacker when hit with Fighting type move

>Windbreaker
Immunity to Flying type, boosts Speed 2 stages.

>Immunity
Changed to provide immunity to Poison type moves, 30% chance to cure all status effects on switchout.

>Dementia
Applies effect of Acupressure on hit by Psychic type, immunity to Psychic type, draws in Psychic type moves.

>Mountaineer
Provides immunity to Rock type moves and all entry hazards. Removes 1 random entry hazard on switch in.

>Mirage
Boosts Evasion in sunlight, rain, hail, and sandstorm. Immunity to weather (not spore/powder moves). Immunity to Ice.

>Flyswatter
Bug-type variant of Counterattack

>Dragonborn
Dragon-type Flash Fire

>Skeptic
150% Sp. Def. boost. Immunity to Ghost.

>Determination
Immunity to Dark type moves. Switches out if brought below 33% (Blaze/Overgrow/Torrent/Storm triggering) HP at the end of a turn.

>Iron Furnace

If at full health, attacks do 66% normal damage. Immunity to Steel.

>Morning Mist

I actually just programmed Flex in. I might call it something else like Steroids.
>>
>>26772195
I renamed it Steroids. It increases Attack by 6 stages every turn, and decreases every other stat every turn by one stage. I might double the weakened stats.
>>
>Rewrite
Any move that would OHKO the 'mon would:
-Lessen attack power by 30% if the two 'mons are within 10 levels of each other
-Lessen by 75% if between 11-39

>>
>>26772087
Why Attack? Why not Special Defense or something?

It has to be something (or random, but that's less interesting). I figure that it probably goes with Ghosts thematically as it feels like a lingering resentful curse, and most of those are attack with Special. This way, it works a little like a non-symmetrical Special version of Moxie that can't be stacked but that also applies to switches (especially relevant given Ghost's immunities) and that sticks around even if you're forced out or faint yourself. Attack also already has a pretty similar ability in Intimidate, so it could certainly also have worked as a Specially defensive similar to that in the same way as it currently is a Specially offensive ability similar to Moxie.

>Also, for Warrior Code, maybe make it boost attack sharply and leave foes with 1 hp until another attack move is aimed, otherwise it's pretty much useless unless in-game or something.
The idea is that you'd have to be mixed and use a weaker (priority?) Special move, or else rely on some kind of residual damage. I originally thought to let it KO at 1HP, but the wording got pretty messy as its a more complex idea than Abilities usually convey.

>Localist

>Patriarchy
If opponent is female, moves gain +1 priority. (Male-exclusive Pokemon)

>Matriarchy
If opponent is male, moves gain +1 priority. (Female-exclusive Pokemon)

>Conqueror
Transforms into opponent upon KO. (Attacks can't kill opponent, but if opponent is at 1 health at end of turn user transforms into opponent then hits with a 10BP non-typed move before all other effects on turn end.)

>Hikikomori/Loner
Special >>26771913

>Diplomat
If same opponent is not targeted by any moves besides moves such as Heal Pulse and isn't switched for 10 moves, opponent is given "unwilling" status/is KO'd (depending on if hack or for ground-up game)

Attacks hit for X hits with 1/(X-1) power, where X is the number of unfainted Pokemon on user's team.

OK, I programmed in Steroids and LSD.
Steroids will boost your Attack by 6 Stages on the first turn as well as reduce every other stat (besides accuracy and evasion) by 1 stage after. LSD is the same, but with Sp. Attack instead. I made them HAs for Machamp and Alakazam, respectively.
>>
>>26772657

The Global Warming/Cooling Abilities I had programmed already. I'm still new to RPG Maker XP and Essentials so I can't program everything. These are great Ideas though, and I can do Speed Boost-like Abilities and Pixilate-like Abilities.
I'm working on a project called Pokemon Evolution Blue. It has Mega Evolution (With new Megas too), new baby evos for pokemon like Kangaskhan and Tropius, different forms for Pokemon (ie. Voltorb and Electrode depending on what Ball you caught it in), and some Fakemon and Characters from other franchises. I guess it's a mashup game.

Multiply every move's BP by its accuracy for new BP (ex. Hydro Pump 110 × 0.8 = 88). All moves now have 100 accuracy before evasion modifiers. Moves with 100 accuracy are unaffected.

Sounds like a variation of Stench
>>
>fast hitter
gives +1 priority to weak attacks (let's say <50 BP)

>all out
gives a x1.5 boost to all attacks but decreases both defensive stats by one stage each time

>vengeful
deals extra damage if the target hits you first, but deals reduced damage if it doesn't
>>
>Intoxicate

Poison type version of Pixelate
>>
Oh hey I saw your Voltorb thread
I'd love to help sprite for your game
>>
>Last Gasp

When faints, uses a random move.
>>
>Volatile
Contact moves have a 30% chance to make pokemon explode

the Explosion would have 300BP and ignore types/defences. Obviously makes pokemon faint

Would be given to 'explosive' pokemon like Electrode and Weezing
>>
>>26770255
>Fortified
Sharply raises defense and special defense if the Pokemon is charging/recharging after a move.
>>
>>26770800

>>
The Indian Elephants Consternation
If the user is smaller than the opponent, the opponent is forced to switch in fear upon entry
>>
>>26774369

>>
>Amorous
- moves have 10% chance to cause Attraction
- can inflict attraction on any pokemon (except pokemon with this ability or Oblivious)
>>
>>26770255
Power Skin
User can only be damaged by moves with original BPs above 80.

This ability basically tells Technician to go fuck itself, and trolls multi hit spam.
>>
>Pack Leader
Attack and Speed are both raised one stage when this pokemon is sent out first before any party pokemon

>Pack Hunter
Attack is raised by one stage for every party pokemon sent out prior to switching in
>>
>>26770255
>Density Break
All physical moves done by the user will apply damage to the foe as if their Defense stat is 0, in exchange the user is unable to attack for two turns.
>>
>Contagious
Enemy pokemon hit with this ability on copies any status the user is suffering from

>Mirror Image
Upon switching in, the enemy pokemon copies the ability user's stats, moves and appearance
>>
>Autism
Base stats + IVs are multiplied by 1.2x. User has -1 priority and -10% accuracy.
>>
>>26775569
Would be far too overpowered

Better way of doing it

>Glass Armor
-Low power moves deal greatly reduced damage (-75%)
-BUT High power moves deal increased damage (+50%)
-Low power = 60BP or less
-High power =100BP or more
>>
>>26775635
How would it be OP if everyone spams moves with BPs above 80 all the time?

>Dimension Shift
User can switch anytime in the battle even in the middle of the opponent's turns.

- Doom Desire (described as concentrated bundle of light)
- Flash (d'oh)

- Signal Beam (described as beam of light)
- Solarbeam (d'oh)
- Techno Blast (described as beam of light)

>6 pokemon - 6 hits for 20% damage (120% total)

This is a great Ability, lol.
>>
>>26775797

it would work better if it was given to a mon with lots of special moves imo

otherwise it's just like high jump kick
>>
>Mold Spores
Inverts effect of berries held in battle upon contact. (Chesto Berry causes sleep, Sitrus Berry causes damage when health is low, damage berries increase super-effectiveness of their type, etc.) In turn, this Pokemon also receives these effects from holding berries itself. When activated, the message "<pokemon>'s <berry> turned rotten!" is displayed.
>>
Infection- Spreads upon contact and poisons.
Basically a Mummy that poisons whatever gains the ability. Poison/Steel are immune to the poison but not to gaining the ability. Given to a rat/mouse Pokemon to reference the plague.

Mirrored Action- Has a 30% chance of copying the opponent.
Consumes 1 PP of the move the Pokemon was originally going to use before the Ability activates, then uses whatever move the opponent last used. Can be good/bad depending on the move copied (like if you wanted to attack but instead copy Recover, or wanted to heal but end up copying Flamethrower). It cannot copy moves like Mirror Move, Copycat, or Mimic.
>>
>Fortify
The user's defenses increase each round, while dropping its speed. Give it to Shuckle.
>>
Attraction

Rock/Steel type moves used by the attacker will never miss

It needs a better name though

Acid Rain

Causes acid rain to fall from the sky for 5 turns, 8 with (insert name here) Stone. Allows poison moves and poison statuses to affect steel types. Poison gains 30% increase to defense and special defense. Water type moves have a 10% chance to poison the opponent but reduced the chance of other effects by 2/3. All Poison type attacking moves have a 20% chance to badly poison the opponent.

Given to Garbador, Gengar, and Muk.

Given to: Drowzee, Hypno, Krabby, Kingler, Bronzor, Bronzong, Wooper, Quagsire, Klink, Klang, Klingklang

>Energetic

Removes all lowered stats upon switch in (doubles/triples)

Given to: Plusle, Minun, Igglybuff, Jigglypuff, Wigglytuff, Pichu, Pikachu, Raichu, Milotic, Dewgong

>Unreasonable

The user lowers an opponent's stat when one is raised.

Give to: Electabuzz, Electivire, Magmar, Magmortar, Tauros, Gyarados, (angry Pokemon)

>Counter Lock

The user locks the opponent into battle, if hit by a contact move.

>Foggy Eyes

The user's accuracy is maxed in weather.
>>
Menace
physical moves have a 15% chance to cause flinch. Increases with boost of the Attack

Shimmer
Lowers opponets accuracy on switch in, sorta like intimidate

On Guard
Increases Defense or Special Defense based on the opponents highest offensive stat

All for One
Copies any stat change the opponent has

One for All
Allies receive stat changes
>>

>Sunbathing
Sun variant of Rain Dish

>Inner Fire
Pokemon draws in Fire moves to cause guaranteed burns if it uses a contact move on the next consecutive turn.

>Inversal
Completely reverses the Type Matchup in battle. (For example, Fire Type attacks would now be super effective against Water Type Pokémon.)

>Evilate
Normal Type attacks become Dark Type attacks, with a 30% boost in power. Ideal for Mega Hydreigon, unless it becomes Dragon/Steel.

>Pure Skill
Doubles the user's Sp. Atk. (Essentially functions as a Huge Power for Sp. Atk users.)

>Ultimate Launcher
Boosts the power of ball, bomb, blast, beam, pulse, and sphere based attacks 1.5x times. Useful for Mega Clawitzer.
