I'm not the only one who thinks that the ORAS ost > RSE ost, am I? I thought they did a really nice job cleaning up the gba's awful soundfont (in my opinion) and made the themes more clear.

I felt it lost all it's emotion. All the percussion was softened and there was no punch in any of the songs. I'm not the biggest Hoenn music fan but Route 104 is one of the all time best tracks, and yet in the remake it wasnt bad, but I expected so much more.

I can understand that. The new soundtrack to me listens better on it its own through a computer, the 3ds just doesn't do the song's subtleties justice in-game.

Just for comparison. It does sound like they softened the battle soundtracks in ORAS. The only battle themes that I could say are on-par or even better than RSE are the rival theme and Maxie/Archie's battle theme.

Both were shit, but RSE was charming shit. ORAS had the shit aspect of RSE, but without the charm of the weird soundfonts and hardware restrictions. They tried to translate the tracks instead of updating them, and it shows. It was like playing a song on the wrong instrument: it just sounds off.
HGSS had the same problem, t b h. GF is terrible at remixes.
