Double battles are the only thing that presents any sort of challenge to pokemon games, and even then Colosseum was easy as fuck.
It's slow paced tedium.
The shadow-mechanic is just tedium that removes the depth the original game has by spamming the same two shadow moves.
The battles are rather slow-paced themselves

Bag limit is still there

Compared to what? Colo felt more challenging than any main series games. Probably due to the limited Pokemon selection and no good places to grind, but still.
