This. I liked stuff from ORAS but it had many of the same issues X/Y suffered from. This generation isn't looking all that impressive but time will only tell. Also morimoto GOAT.

Ohmori had to work with an already established game and story, and had a year or so to do it. The Dex Nav and soaring were GOAT, and I liked the Delta Episode.
Sun and Moon are his first games he has complete control of, and they look amazing so far. All great designs for new Pokemon and characters, the story looks great already, the over world and atmosphere are amazing, the new battle interface looks neat, the new FRLG-esqe Pokedex looks neat, and now all trainers have models in battle. All great improvements.
I can't wait to see what else he has in store.

ORAS was rushed to shit and Ohmori had Masada breathing down his back, sure Masuda is still around but it seems like they're taking their time with SM and the new features like stat increase and decrease checks are nice as hell.
Shout out to Morimoto and Kawachimaru. HGSS and Plat are my favorite games in the series.

considering the shit in ORAS, and the sexy ass UI we've seen, SM is going to to have a bunch of quality of life improvements, and be a good game all around, but, considering Masuda is still a producer, the low level low difficulty shit might still be a thing.
It seems Masuda felt the backlash for BWs heavy level requirement, and really went back on it with XY, and might keep pushing it for SM.

I'm the first of those. The only games I didn't care for were FRLG (too slow), BW (the region felt dull), DP (I made the mistake of playing it in JP first, and skipped too much text), and B2W2 (I was still bored of the region). I didn't give Platinum enough of a chance, though I absolutely love what gen IV and V did for competitive. Even if I didn't care for the main games.
I've put about 800 hours into X, 200 in Y, and 400 or so between playthroughs of ORAS. I can't get over how much I love this gen, and I'm even more excited for Sun/Moon. I just happen to love and hate the WRONG games to be on /vp/.
