I wish they make Surf regular TM move and give the ability to swim to all water pokemon. Same with fly (flying), cut (anyone with claws), waterfall (water, at some level?), dig (able to burrow), defog (flying) and flash (electric), dive (water). This would eliminate the HM slavery.

I've never done this except in Platinum version. And it hurt my soul to do it. I just couldn't ruin a Pokemon with the shitty fucking HMs like rock climb and defog.

bruh i didn't until diamond and it makes the game so much easier especially in early gen games where you really need em. I hate that they still have places in new gens that require Flash but its not even a HM. i wish HMs could at least be decent moves like Surf and waterfall are. but the recent games hardly need hms or hardly need you to switch out pokemon. once i get mega evo i just steam roll. wish the game world would scale better.
