I mean yeah new Pokemon are cool and I do like the features they showed off but a lot of it was minor compared to what they could show off. (New mechanics, finally unveil this synergy stuff they've been badly hiding...).
Don't forget that by this time 2 years ago, they revealed the fairy type, which was pretty huge at the time.
