Except the names in the demos usually don't reflect their in-game names. During the Black/White mall tour Hilda & Hilbert's names were Blair & Whitley I believe. And in pre-release videos I believe Serena & Calem were either Yvonne or Yvette & Xavier or Xander (can't remember which). We likely won't know their official names until release. Besides, Selene is way too close to Serena and way to on the nose for the naming schemes they've used the past few gens.

Helios was a god of the sun in Latin(? possibly Greek?) lore, as well as our root word for Helium.
Hence the name being modified for Magic. Nyx is also a direct relation to Nix, as well as a few of the other Theros gods.

And Nyx, Nox and Nix are all used as names for the Primordial goddess of darkness and night.
