We should find out early since it's said the protagonist sees their island's deity. I'm mostly thinking they're just names for legendary Pokemon. Like maybe your character sees Solgaleo who they refer to as Tapu Koko. Or mayve they mistake the description and just think Solgaleo/Lunala is them.
