Mongooses were introduced into Hawaii to deal with a heavy rat problem infesting their sugar cane fields.

It's a little vague but I don't think those moves would work well with the Ability. I would think you have to hit incoming pokemon on the same turn they come in. So let's say you Dragon Tail something and another pokemon comes in. Whatever move you hit them with wouldn't be doubled, if I'm understanding the Ability correctly.

Learn the semantics first before talking about competitive like clueless faggots. Its evo may be a decent wallbreaker with really minmaxed stat distribution, but faster VoltTurn users will still revenge kill it after a little prior damage. For reference:

It's an extreme example to show how fragile a low BST minmaxed Pokemon can be. For reference, 248HP Raticate still takes 85-106% HP from that attack. Even if the final evo of Yungoos had better bulk stats than Raticate it still wouldn't change the point that a lot of fast and strong VoltTurn users will still straight up murder it after a little prior damage, making the claim of Yungoos being a decent counterplay to VoltTurn sound ridiculous.

>>26737318
It's the best Choice Scarf user available in a lot of commonly played formats, both official and Smogon, in no small part thanks to U-Turn. It's a very steep challenge for what will almost definitely never be fielded in the same formats as Lando-T, but again, an extreme example to prove a point. I could show you calcs with lower tier threats like Crobat, but you can do that yourself.

This is the kind of damage output we can expect from this mon. Play Rough is a little generous, but with it there is absolutely nothing OU-legal capable of reliably countering it Skarmory and Mega Slowbro need only Stealth Rock damage to get twoshotted by appropriate coverage. There's zero way this thing will be used in OU, but in lower tiers it will be an incredibly scary wallbreaker, if heavily prediction-reliant.

You ever look at a mon and just feel it in your bones that it's destined to be a showderp superstar?

BANDED DOUBLE EDGE FUCKERY REVENGE KILLER

Only problem with that is that it'll be really difficult to take advantage of its ability if you're banded.

Also, it loses the x2 multiplier after the first attack, some of those 2HKOs are actually 3HKOs.

>>
>>26734437
It doesn't give his moves priority, after a pokemon switches in he deals more damage to it.
>>
I really like this approach. Powerful abilities like this can keep the early Pokemon you find with garbage base stats still viable. It would be OP on a more powerful Pokemon, but this thing is basically going to end up being a Raticate/Zangoose.
>>
>>26740383
but AI trainers never switch out
>>
>>26740403
Who cares about AI? You could beat the game with a Sunflora on your team if you wanted. Every pokmoen is viable enough to beat the main game. The only time you'd actually consider whether a pokemon is viable is pvp
>>
>>26739589
Band is the best possible item for its intended role of a wallbreaker. Once it's up against a specially defensive Pokemon you can usually just click banded Return and get a guaranteed kill, with very specific exceptions you can instead predict with coverage. While Life Orb would allow it to switch moves, it has neither raw power nor survivability to break through more than one or two Pokemon so it's kind of moot compared to immediate damage output.
>>26739619
Learn2math. Slowbro and Hippowdon take 97% and 93% minimum accounting both attacks and Leftovers recovery inbetween. They're way more likely to die than not. Mega Slowbro and Skarmory need both coverage and Stealth Rock damage for the same, but it still proves it's capable of breaking through common physical walls switching in.
>>
It's a strong ability but its base attack, speed, and movepool will decide whether it ends up being a gimmickmon or a terror.
>>
>>26734578
This. It's just the starter rodent of Alola, nothing will switch out because they can take it out.

Who wrote this and has he had his medication lately?
>>
>>26737030
yeah as in it can hit first turn of a battle with double because that pokemon "entered" even if it didn't "switch."
>>
Guys.

This is not rocket science.

Stakeout means all attacks deal double damage to anything that switches/enters in the turn Yungoos uses an attack.

It does not work when the battle first starts, nor when the opponent sends in a Pokemon to replace a KO'd Pokemon.

It is for switchers, U-Turners, Volt-Switchers, etc, i.e. Pokemon entering and leaving mid-turn.

Do you understand now, or do I need to get the puppets?
>>
>>26741799
Reading comprehension issues much? The objects in this list are
>A: Pokemon that switch in
and
>B: [Pokemon that] enter the field mid-battle
>>
>>26735382

where you got this, is it a brand style guide right?
>>
>>26741855
>switch in

Yes, SWITCH IN, not "are sent in to replace a KO'd Pokemon". It puts the Pursuit effect on all the moves it has, so if you know how Pursuit works then you should know how this Ability works. It's the same thing as Alchemy Lion's signature move having the Mold Breaker Ability's effect.
>>
>>26735382
Thats just for anime.

I'm pretty sure that games use different rules for that kind of stuff.

its the same thing they did with sudowoodo in gen 2.
There is only 1 a few you find that are blocking the way, and then you can find them in the wild in gen 4 where they even have a prevo.

Maybe this is my autism kicking in, but this doesn't imply a new region.

This is mirroring how mongooses were introduced to Hawaii. They were meant to take care of a rat problem on the islands. But mongoose were diurnal and rats were nocturnal, so they both ended up thriving.
