the starters themselves were only shown a month ago

That's totally normal not to have the starters evolutions yet.
The games are being released in November and we've learnt about the starters a month ago, we'll have to wait to have any big news.

Why the fuck would you expect them?

I was expecting a hint drop about what they evolve into, like the tease about XY's starters evolving into the big 3 RPG classes

Which they only hinted after everyone figured it out already with the second stages

We'll most likely see them in September, since that's when we got to see the Gen VI starters back in 2013
