For me, I'd say that the new designs are anywhere between 50% and 75% of the reason I love Megas so much.

If Synchros don't really change the looks in cool and interesting ways, that's going to be quite a letdown. I would say that that is a blunder on GameFreak's part.

I know they don't want to have literally hundreds of Mega Stone items in your bag, but that doesn't mean they should take the easy route when designing Synchro or future Megas.

If Synchros become a thing, I hope that they do not preempt future Megas from being designed. If they are a way to allow everything without a mega a way to go "mega" then... I could live with that, maybe, providing they get retconned later on in years to come with better designs.

You know, I fucking hate Sceptile, but I think Mega Sceptile is one of my favourite Pokemon designs.

I doubt Synchros will ever be a thing, in the anime's case it was literally just the studio wanting Ash to get a Mega of his own but since he only had Kalos Pokemon they needed to make up something.

I don't see why both can't exist.
Primals and Megas are essentially the same thing.
Synchro needs to have some kind of difference. Even if it's just certain starters or pokemon in a region there will be something that separates it from Mega.

Mega evolution adds a total of 100 BST allotted in a specific way.
Synchro evolution adds a total of 50-75 BST that you can allot however you choose.

You do realise synchro has been in different parts of the franchise for a while right?
