Considering America as a nation was founded by immigrants, it fixed one of the biggest flaws thematically with Unova.
Like how it fixed everything wrong with the awful BW1.
But BW2's regional dex was amazing without being bloated.

The gimmick was great for the first games. But I would not have liked it as much if it was in BW2.
BW2 also has an amazing selection of pokemon, so I think its okay.
