Pokemon games have always been abbreviated using their initials (CamelCase titles count as two words), with Platinum being the only exception because Pearl already took up "P". These conventions give us SM.

But it's not exclusive to /vp/. Everywhere you go, there's always a lot of people calling it SuMo. And more often than not they even outnumber those who call it SM.
