Uxie has no recovery and is a sitting duck.
Mesprit is outclassed by Mew and Latias and also lacks recovery.
Azelf is used as a suicide lead but an offensive set is also viable. The offensive set sees little usage unless mixed/physical since Alakazam outclasses it.
Azelf is pretty damn good though. But not as great compared to Gen 4 where it was god tier.
Uxie isn't used much bc it's stats lend it to being a wall/bulky mon, and mono psychic isn't a good defensive typing with the prevalence of moves like knock off and u-turn
Mesprits sort of like a regular deoxys thing. When a Pokemon stands as the middle ground between counterparts, it usually doesn't turn out so good. Mesprits sort of like mediocre at the jobs uxie and azelf could do well, so why use them? If you're playing smogon, there are better psychics in mesprits tier.
Azelf is obviously the most viable of the lake trio, but it's still a bit 2d. Almost every team has something capable of taking an explosion, and while it's nasty plot set is okay, it's pretty frail and ther are tons of mons that can take its hits and hit back harder. It doesn't have any sort of priority, so sucker punch is also a big thing

Uxie was outclassed the very moment it was available because Cresselia exists. Cresselia had Moonlight as recovery and more HP. Uxie's only advantage is U-turn.
Azelf was a suicide lead back in 4th gen when suicide leads were a thing, it's not as common nowadays since you can pick any pokemon to start with.
Mesprit could've been potentially versatile, but there's no point in using it when base stat powercreep made 95 an obsolete attacking stat
