Yesterday was my lucky day. Two Shinies pretty close to each other using the DexNav. The first one was this Bouffalant. The second one, like ten minutes after the Bouffalant, was a Shiny Eevee, which I posted in the Eevee thread like an hour ago.
I'm still on my longest hunt: Shiny Tyrunt. I lost the count of eggs, though, but I've been doing it sporadically since last December.

Currently, I'm doing randomized shiny hunting in Friend Safari. I pick different safaris at random to go into and see if any shiny mons pop up. I don't have any particular ones in mind, so it makes it more interesting for me.

For several days early on in X&Y I was working on completing the national dex and looking for soodowoodo. It turns out the only way to get soodowoodo was in a horde encounter, one among five other trevenants. I can't recall if I ever got soodowoodo but I found a shiney trevenant after a few days, which is awesome because it's like a birch tree.

Longest hunt was for a Shiny Audino, a chain of over 200 didn't work so I tried whenever I could, took over 400 encounters with dexnav to get.

The 1300 or so Charmander MM hunt I finished just last weekend.
Been hunting 3IV+ Dittos on DexNav on and off this week. Got two shinies as well so far in around 600 encounters, though neither had Imposter. Otherwise, I've got three 4IV Dittos covering all the stats, and 3IV + 0 Speed IV one. Pretty lucky so far, but probably won't be satisfied until I get one or two 5IVs. Hopefully missing Atk and SpA respectively. That probably won't happen, of course.
I wanted to try to DexNav for a few shiny Unown, but their island hasn't spawned for me yet. Probably just keep on Dittos for the moment.

Every Hoopa Ring Legend is not shiny locked. As I recall, only the "normal" Legends for Gen VI are. Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Mewtwo, Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, and Deoxys. One assumes the idea is they don't want you to be able to find shinies for Legends during the generation they're spotlighted/introduced. Though considering we just got handouts of Shiny Rayquaza, Xerneas, and Yveltal, who the fuck knows what the rational is?

Depends on what the parents were. If both were 6IV, then that leaves one IV to be randomly generated. A 31 is a 1/32 chance.
If you had the shiny charm and were masudaing, that's a 1/527 chance. So, combined, the chances of getting a 6IV shiny are 1/32 * 1/527, or 1/16864
Of course, since we're only talking about shinies, it's a 1/32 chance that any one shiny would be perfect.
All in all, incredible odd.

I'm doing a more complex one in my Omega Ruby cart. SR'ing for each starter + getting one extra shiny on every save file. End goal is to have a full shiny team when I tranfer them all on one file. So far I have shiny Sceptile, Blaziken, and Sharpedo, currently hunting for Golbat.
I'm just doing it weirdly though, usually the rules are that you have to get a shiny before you challenge a gym. If you start with a shiny starter, it's easier because you can start battling the first gym right away. You don't nessisarily have to do that though, you can always get a shiny early route mon before the first gym.

Restarted Black yesterday, was running around doing the Plasma bit in Pinwheel Forest, ran into my first shaking grass/Audino patch of the game, and this pops out.
Wasn't planning on using Audino, but random/full odds shinies still get my heart racing, so I might have to find space in my team. Also, purples my favourite colour so it's hard not to.
