Yes, in Europe we needed Channel for Jirachi, so I never got it during gen III. There was no Colosseum bonus disc in Europe.
In the US there were a couple of obscure Celebi giveaways during gen III, in Europe Celebi wasn't available legitimately during gen III, period.

I had never thought of it that way, but now that you mention it, Colosseum and XD definitely were the games to play for Johto nostalgics before HGSS. Ho-Oh and Lugia were central to their storylines, the Johto starters being available and a storyline that was a bit edgier than the main series, which kids which had grown up with gen II should have been able to handle.
