Anyway, I can kind of see it, though its takes some squinting, but we already have an Electric lion in Luxray.
I'm fairly pleased with Solgaleo's typing. It's not the great typing it once was pre-gen 6, and having a secondary Metagross seems a bit pointless, but I don't think it's a godawful choice.

I didn't say anything about Solgaleo not being an improvement over Magneton. "Legendary stats make any pokemon better" is as obvious a fact as "food with salt has more taste".
The OP says "imagine a playable Magneton". Magneton (and by extension, Magnezone) is a perfectly playable pokemon both ingame, and in postgame, which is what I was referring to.
