They are both not good, but if I had to choose the top one is less awful.
The top one is slightly less awful. Still bad, though.

Too many different patterns going on. It needs to be a little more uniformed before it starts to look nice. Get rid of the spots in the first one and figure out which pattern to use overall in the brown areas.
In the end I say the top one is the best. The bottom one is a clustered mess.
I kinda feel like the top one actually has some potential, but it needs a lot of work. As said earlier, get rid of the dots, and settle on a pattern.
