I thought it was fun. The last boss was tough and I was getting pissed off. Also it was the first final fantasy I played so I didn't have a prejudice. I have played ff6 and ff7 since I've started ff13, and I prefer both those games.
However, I do like ff13s battle mechanics and the visuals are beautiful. I just found the story a bit hard to follow and the translation a bit wonky.

Well instead of events, people can give suggestions to help develop characters. Like rhyan talks to may about her hopes and dreams. Notquesty and his sister reminisce about how much of an asshole their dad is. There is so much to explore and learn about these characters. The reason its so long is because its supposed to feel like a real adventure. Notquesty should be read multiple times to fully understand it. I'm making an epic here.

Now, while you all have differing tastes, I will say FE14's DLC shenanigans are just the worst. Pay not once, not twice, but thrice for the story!? And that's not getting to the Season Passes they make for their DLC, which branches off into 2 packs right now, both combined to cost 28 bucks. In essence, in addition to paying 30-40 bucks for the game, you're already paying an extra 67.99 for the full game.unless you use AL9H and FunKeyCIA, like I do. Even then, still a scummy practice for the actual paying customers.
