Emerald had a really good "post-game" for it's time. The Battle Frontier was just too much of a challenge to pass up and gave us extra stuff to do if you had finished up on FR and LG by then.

BW were pretty weak compared to Plat and HG/SS.
The lack of a defined Battle Frontier or anything alike to it was also a huge let down.
That's not to say D/P didn't do the same shit after Emerald, but the downgrade of the HM Slave Godsend that was Bibarel into Watchog made me almost die from all the salt produced.B2/W2 were massive improvements on B/W.

What the fuck do you people rank Pokemon games based on? Black and White were a breath of fresh air, a whole new dex of Pokemon with no old Pokemon to tempt me into falling back on staples, a nice looking (if linear) region with a good amount of variety, memorable gym leaders, memorable villains, an actual mix-up to the Elite 4 formula like holy shit.
B2W2 definitely did improve on BW but that doesn't mean the base wasn't still really fucking good in it's own right. This isn't a D/P/Pt situation.

Literally same motivation as Giovanni, lol. People only consider Team Rocket memorable because of nostalgia, they're cartoon villains. The thing about Ghetsis that makes him memorable was his use of deceit and betrayal in order to get what he wants, he was basically an analog of a corrupt politician in the Pokemon world.
