Also, shitty Pokemon distribution and godawful level up moves for nearly every mon. Toss in the fact that flamethrower/ice beam/t-bolt were absurdly annoying to get as well really detracted from the experience.
You know the Disassembly is online, you can easily fix most of Crystal's flaws and make it even better. Why haven't you?

I know you're joking, but I do miss having Crystal's battle tower in games. it was nice to have a set of battles with a level 10, 20, 30 limit etc. Was a lot of fun using stuff like a level 10 arcanine.

It's an entire gym based off the Gastly line. They should've at least had Misdreavus in there or waited until a gen where there was more than two ghost types before they made that gym.
Morty's Gaygar in general was pretty annoying too, faster than everything you have, Dream Eater, and really strong for a third stage evolution that early in the game. That part of the game always struck me as jarring/poorly designed

If you don't mind a Japanese copy, AmiAmi has them brand new for less than that. That's where I got mine, and I can vouch for its newness. It's incredible that a new copy of Crystal is even still available.

There's definitely enough space for it, ROMhackers are able to find plenty of free space on the ROM.
The reason Kanto got truncated isn't space, but rather time, GS was already in development hell and I don't think they really wanted to delay it even further porting every Kanto location. Imagine if S&M got announced last year but had the same release date as now, and we only had slightly more information than we have at this point of time, and then it gets delayed 2017 after that. The entire reason Yellow exists is because they needed a filler game in Japan.
That being said I don't know why they didn't re-add locations in Crystal, unless it was just laziness.

No, genwunners actually hate everything but Gen I. Just look at any /vr/ Pokémon thread, you'll find people who claim GSC ruined Pokémon and think RBY are actually the only good games in the series.

Wouldn't that be Gen 5? I'd assume Z would outclass it in Gen 4 since there's no Eviolite.
And I personally rank the graphics as a plus, they've aged a lot better than Gen I just due to the great palettes. Night palettes especially are the best, we haven't had a night time in Pokémon as good as Gen II's.
